Of course it is out of date, however it was a good introductory that could be applied this day.
Pretty good book for Unix beginners like me. Even though the book is old as dirt, it's still relevant today!
I come back to this book again and again. Great readability. Simple explanations. I just bought the Linux version by the same author.

I'm a beginner, so this book is great. Goes through command lines and has chapters dedicated to Vi and Emacs editors. Super useful!
This is a classic handbook on the UNIX system. It covers all the major commands, with discussions of such matters as the UNIX file system, the vi and Emacs editors, printing, administration, etc. I would have liked to see more details about the differences between the various UNIX flavors in current operation.
An excellent textbook. Clear explanations and then many real world examples. It was recommended by a friend and I, too, recommend it
